1. In Section 2 of Chapter 4, the narrator gives an explanation of Bernard's problems. List the things that trouble Bernard. Why do you think Bernard is "much more alone" and "utterly miserable" during the solidarity service in Ch. 5? Do you think Bernard is in any way responsible for his own problem?

Some things that trouble Bernard are his size compared to other Alphas everytime he encountered with lower castes he was reminded of this and it humilated him. He is very self-concious and envious of other Alphas. He is much more alone because he isnt like a normal Alpha. I dont think he is responsible for his own problem, too much alcohol was added to him
